Support Us

Support the Sisters of St. Francis of Sylvania, Ohio and become a partner in our ministries. Find a cause you feel strongly about and a vehicle you are comfortable using. By making a donation you can become involved with the work of the Sylvania Franciscans and have a positive impact on the communities where our Sisters serve. But it is about more than just giving money. You can support the mission of the Sisters of St. Francis in non-monetary ways too. Following are a few ideas to consider:

Pray – Attend a Third Tuesday Peace Prayer Service in Queen of Peace Chapel at 6:30 p.m. and join us in the Franciscan tradition of promoting peace and nonviolence. Or join us for 9 a.m. liturgy on Sunday morning, also in Queen of Peace Chapel.

Become involved – Join us in our stance against human trafficking, the death penalty, or any of our other justice and peace advocacy issues(See the Justice and Peace section of our web site for more details.).

Volunteering your time in the efforts of the Sisters... whether you would like to garden, tutor students, make crafts for our shop, go with us to the local soup kitchen, or read to a retired Sister, we welcome your service. (See the Other Ways to Join Us section of our website fo more details.)

Consider becoming an Associate of the Sisters of St. Francis to have an active role in our ministries. (See the Other Ways to Join Us section of our website fo more details.)

Visit us – Experience the natural beauty and tranquility of our 89-acre Motherhouse grounds. The campus includes a Prayer Garden, complete with walking paths and benches for meditating; numerous shrines honoring the life of St. Francis of Assisi; and Portiuncula Chapel, a sacred place for quiet reflection modeled after the 12th century church St. Francis prayed in. You can also visit the Heritage Room, where you can read and see the 94-year history of the community, and All Good Things, an art gallery and gift shop featuring Franciscan items made by Sisters, Associates and friends.
