Associates

Interested In Becoming An Associate?

After the review process is completed, the applicant is notified to begin the formal orientation with a Sister companion who guides him/her into the meaning of Associate commitment. The Franciscan Journey is used as a resource text.

Upon completion of one year of study and involvement, the readiness of the candidate is evaluated with final approval made by the Congregational Leadership Team.

You will need to:

Contact the Associate Office and request an application.

Provide three references; for instance, a friend, a Sister of St. Francis, a minister or pastor.

Forward the completed application to the Associate Co-directors.

Meet the Associate Co-directors in an interview and tour of the Franciscan campus.

If approved, the candidate makes a formal Associate covenant with the Sisters of St. Francis for one year. This commitment may be renewed yearly with mutual agreement of those involved. If the Associate renews, a formal celebration of Covenant Renewal takes place at our Community chapel or at a convenient time and place for those unable to attend.

To encourage continued growth in spirituality, Associates participate in community events such as retreats, days of renewal, chapter sessions, celebrations, and workshops.
